MENA in the Polycrisis Era
The societies of the Middle East and North Africa are amongst those most exposed to the polycrisis that today drives global affairs. At one and the same time, many countries in the region are needing to navigate the compounding and intersecting challenges of war, climate transition, sovereign indebtedness, mass joblessness, food and health insecurity, developmental backsliding, and spiking inequality.
This project attempts to clarify the region’s diverse experiences with the polycrisis. It does so through research, editorial, and dissemination efforts. Each of these have been designed to grow public understanding around the causes and effects of the polycrisis in question. In gathering original data and producing analytical outputs of the highest rigor, we build a holistic picture of the troubles standing before the region. In delivering our findings through a range of formats–research reports, long-form analytical essays, policy briefs, and podcasts–we ensure this picture can be seen by the maximum number of audiences possible.
