Yohanan Benhaim is Co-Founder of Noria, where he is also a Turkey and Kurdish Affairs Analyst. His principal research interests are in Turkey’s foreign policy, in particular with respect to Kurdish areas in Iraq and Syria. His research also examines civil-military relations and the Kurdish question in Turkey.
He is a PhD candidate in Political Science at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and an associate researcher at the Centre d’Etudes Turques, Ottomanes, Balkaniques et Centrasiatiques (CETOBAC, EHESS) and the Institut Français d’Etudes Anatoliennes (IFEA, Istanbul). He teaches at Sciences-Po Paris and Paris-1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University.
A graduate of Paris-1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and Sciences-Po Paris, he also studied at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul. His research frequently takes him to Turkey and Iraqi Kurdistan.
