Théotime Chabre works on the globalization and the international development of marginalized and dominated territories. Right now, he focuses on how they integrate to globalization processes through the building of hubs dedicated to for-profit transnational higher education. His main fieldworks are in Cyprus, Turkey, the EU institutions and France.
Theotime Chabre is completing a PhD in political sciences under the direction of Elise Massicard (Sciences Po Paris – CERI) and Sylvie Mazzella (Mesopolhis, Aix-Marseille University). He is also a fellow of the Institut Convergences Migration since 2018. In June 2020, he was one of the 4 PhD student to be awarded a one year ICM - CNRS thesis additional contract. He currently organizes a seminar on “Priviledged Migrations” in the ICM, and is a member of the following networks : “OREM”(AMU-Marseille), AMiMo (IFEA-Istanbul).
After a bachelor in Sciences Po Paris and Marmara University (Istanbul). He graduated from Sciences Po – Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA, 2014) in International Development and Middle Eastern Studies (MA). During his master, he spent a semester as a special envoy for the NGO “Ecole de la Paix” in Israel/Palestine and studied in Tel Aviv University. He previously worked on a mission for the NGO “Santé Diabète” in France and in Mali.
He also participated in 2016-2017 in a one year research program on the professional practices and the administrative status of imams in France, taking care of the in person interviews with imams and association representatives of organizations linked to the Turkish community in France and the redaction of part of the studies on the topic.
