Robin Beaumont
Robin Beaumont is a co-director of the Noria Middle East & North Africa Program. A graduate of the École normale supérieure (ENS) and of Sciences Po Paris and a former Junior Research Fellow of the European Research Council (ERC) Wafaw program (2013-2016), Robin has taught and lectured at a host of academic institutions and worked as a speechwriter in the office of UNESCO’S Director-General. His research focuses on social and political dynamics of Shii political islam, primarily in contemporary Iraq.
Robin earned his PhD in political science at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS, Paris). He has been conducting extensive field research in Iraq and neighboring countries for the past ten years. He is the author of several book chapters and scientific publications as well as media articles, and of a forthcoming book on Shii political islam in Iraq.
