Cecilia Baeza

Cecilia Baeza is the co-founder of RIMAAL (transnational academic network on Latin America and the Arab World). She is also a member of the Editorial board of Mashriq & Mahjar. Cecilia’s areas of expertise include the transnational agency of migrants and diasporas, forced migration in the Middle East, and reception and integration policies in Latin America. She has worked mainly on Palestinians in Chile, Honduras, and Brazil; her current research focuses on the integration of Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Brazil.

Cecilia received her PhD in political science at the Paris Institute of Political Science (Sciences Po) and is currently an Associate Researcher at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), Brazil. Cecilia has taught and carried out fieldwork in several countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and Palestine.
