Juan José Martínez d'Aubuisson is a sociocultural Anthropologist trained in the faculty of social sciences at the University of El Salvador.

He has a broad experience in ethnographic studies and comparative studies in the subject of violence and social insecurity. Martinez has worked closely on the phenomenon of Central American gangs doing research for various international institutions and Salvadoran universities.

He has published his academic materials in books and scientific journals in Central America, Europe and the United States. He has experience in the field of journalism, a field in which he has produced books and research that have been published in different newspapers and media. He has experience as a university professor and facilitator in advanced courses and workshops.

He has been a speaker at various lectures and forums of anthropological researchers and congresses in countries in Latin America, Europe and the United States.

He is co-author of the book about the history of the Mara Salvatrucha 13 The Kid OF Hollywood, the violent life and violent death of a hitman MS-13 (Verse Book 2019) author of the book One year within the MS-13.
