Camille Popineau

Camille Popineau is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the Pantheon-Sorbonne University, Her research focuses on the formation of institutions and the implementation of a regulated order in Côte d’Ivoire’s rebel areas since 2002.

By focusing on training and governance, she studies comparatively the investment of various actors (civil, rebel, state, transnational) in the education, health and security sectors. Thus, she analyses their representations of engagement, violence and rebellion and how the rebel groups inspire themselves from the state, the civilians’ expectations and the local and national history. She is Junior Research Fellow in the ERC Social Dynamics of Civil Wars and also teaches Comparative Political Societies at Pantheon-Sorbonne University.
